Cantores Dominicae is a lively, committed choir of approximately 40 mixed voices. We are based in Lyminge near Folkestone and draw our membership from as far afield as Canterbury, Dover, Sandwich and Ashford.
Founded thirty years ago, the choir has built up a reputation in the local area, mixing high standards with a warm and friendly social life.
We have undertaken several tours both at home and in Europe. In 2001 the choir hosted an exchange visit by Coro Vetta, a male voice choir from Ponte-in-Valtellina in the Italian Alps. The two choirs performed three concerts in Dover, Egerton and Wye. Cantores spent a week in Italy in 2002 and performed in four highly successful concerts.
We currently give three concerts a year. Spring and Autumn concerts are a blend of both religious and secular music demonstrating the choir's versatility with summer concerts offering a more lighthearted repetoire of music. We also perform at Carol Concerts in local churches at Christmas and sing at weddings by appointment.
We always give new singers a warm welcome.
Major works performed include:-
Stainer's Crucifixion
